JOB DESCRIPTION

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical. 

Duties and Responsibilities
•    CNC troubleshooting drives, motors
•    Machine repair
•    Troubleshoot and correct setups, tooling and malfunctions
•    Operate the personnel lifts
•    Operate forklifts
•    Perform repairs and adaptions of equipment, such as; changing air, grease and coolant lines, switches, belts, guards
•    Fabricate miscellaneous items out of wood, metal and Plexiglas
•    Build or fabricate labels, devices, etc. to improve quality and production
•    Use hand and power tools
•    Move equipment
•    Plumbing, welding, construction of metal/wood, brazing, soldering, maintenance and inventory supply check in / out using CMMS system
•    Lookup MRO parts using CMMS system, if not available provide all relevant information to clerk, engineer or manager for prompt order of repair parts and rebuild machines as required
•    All non-routine machine maintenance and upkeep machines as required
•    Evaluate / repair / replace electrical motors and component
•    Wire machines
•    Install new equipment to meet all production needs
•    Basic PLC maintenance
•    Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•    Understand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as drawings and blueprints
•    Certified fork lift operator
•    Welding
•    Industrial electricity/wiring

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the department. This includes developing and maintaining long term professional relationships with clients.  Source and maintain a pool of qualified candidates for current and future job openings.  Assist employees with a smooth and orderly Onboarding process. Maintaining up-to-date personnel information.

QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum)

  1. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

BA/BS Degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience preferred.  Three to five years of Management experience is required.

  1. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

Must be detailed oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.   Ability to prioritize, multi-task and provide excellent customer service.  Must have strong problem solving and computer skills.

2nd & 3rd shift position available

2nd Shift – 2:45pm-11:00pm

3rd Shift – 10:45pm-7:00am

Duties would include but not limited to:

  • Count parts correctly
  • Inspect parts for quality issues
  • Assemble parts
  • Package parts accordingly
  • Get supplies as needed
  • Help with breaks when needed
  • Standing for 10 hours during shifts.
  • Lifting up to 30 lbs as needed.

Experience preferred but not necessary-on the job training provided for the first 2 weeks.

 

Must have a clear background & be able to pass a drug screen.

Prepares daily time sheets for hourly employees, production summaries, overtime and downtime reports. Inspects product to verify production specifications are met. Reviews production schedules, material and manpower resources. Assigns employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements. Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures. Maintains a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules and performance. Trains new workers in the organizations operating procedures and standards.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 5 years related experience.

Good work record and experience. Ability to lead in a production environment. Requires tact and good judgement. Excellent communication skills.

-Set up injection and compression molds and necessary auxiliary equipment.

-Optimize process settings at setup for the production of acceptable parts.

-Assist in the troubleshooting and debug of new molds.

-Assist in the diagnosing of molding problems.

-Maintain daily maintenance and safety checks on designated machines.

-Ability to set up and process production molds with minimal supervision.

-Assemble or disassemble hydraulic hoses.

-Blueprint interpretation.

-Must be able to work OT if necessary.
