The goal of the Die Setter is to provide expert support in the area of injection molding to the manufacturing operation.  It is both a “hands-on” and supportive role where consistent, quality parts are produced at effective rates.  As such, the Die Setter must operate with urgency and dedication to do “whatever it takes” to meet the customer’s requirements, in a safe working environment, and a positive team atmosphere.

The role is required to maintain the control of processes in injection molding. This person also provides support to the execution of the production schedule including anything from component changes, setups and startups. This role reports to the Process Engineer and supports the Lead Operator.




  • Responsible for all mold changes done per the production schedule
  • Responsible for the proper set-up of all molds and related functions such as watering of the mold, knockout, hot runner etc. for injection molding machines
  • Repair any fluid or air leaks relating to the mold
  • Responsible for the pulling and resetting of all mold halves, specifically for the purpose of mold repair
  • Monitors and prepares auxiliary equipment as needed in the production area
  • Maintains the orderly appearance of the mold storage area, including all end of arm tooling
  • Responsible for the orderly appearance of all mold-setting supplies including the removal of all supplies from the molding machines and immediate area
  • Adheres to all mold change policies
  • Coordinates and monitors the execution of the production schedule
  • Completes all necessary mold in/out paperwork.
  • Assists the Process Technician when needed; Verifies paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at start up of jobs and in process inspections
  • Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
  • Trains back-ups



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but will consider experience in lieu of education
  • Some technical training in related field preferred

Work Experience

  • Experience in a general manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Have exposure to maintenance problems
  • Be familiar with controls on machines, robots and overhead cranes

A company is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Mechanic for its Batesville, MS facility. This is a high profile position with the opportunity for advancement. The qualified individual must be able to repair and maintain injection molding machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems, electrical devices and other secondary equipment such as Martin Machines and Heat Transfer machines.




  • Recommend improvements to equipment and processes to enhance quality and productivity
  • Documentation-the ability to fill out process sheets; and to perform safety checks on molds and machines
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery
  • Replaces and repairs parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce product by operating all equipment in the department. Set up, adjust and troubleshoot equipment, including automated operations, controls, and sensors.
  • Review programs on numerical and PLC equipment and adjust offsets. Communicate with Facilitator and Maintenance Techs about required ladder logic and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Perform preventative maintenance responsibilities. Participate in updates of preventative maintenance schedules. Complete routine equipment and product inspections and complete required documentation.
  • Investigate and efficiently assist with diagnosis and resolution of equipment and quality problems, production delays or stoppages. Participate in performing root cause analysis and assist with implementing the best solution.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs. Provide feedback to Maintenance and Facilitator as needed.  Learn and complete corrective actions as directed.
  • Inform Facilitator or Department Manager about processes or equipment requiring attention. Complete documentation as required or requested.
  • Recommend and participate in completion of continuous improvement projects specifically designed to improve processes, productivity and quality, especially those related to corrective actions.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the manager/facilitator, including working other shifts as necessary.

3rd Shift Position

Position Description:
Operator joins tubing, sheet metal and studs together by brazing, welding or soldering, using tools such as oxygen acetylene torch, arc welder, heliarc, stud welder and tig weld.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to interact with others and be self-motivated to maximize production.
  • Read and understand blue prints.
  • Operate and read all measuring devices
  • Organize and set up work.
  • Required to stand constantly, walk occasionally, bend frequently, squat occasionally, and reach forward frequently. These motions are sustained and repetitive.
  • Good safety habits are a must as caution is required in preparing the welder for operation. Safety glasses are required at all times, and to avoid eye injury a welding helmet is required when engaged in actual welding activity. Employees are required to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance and must use proper body techniques when performing floor, knee, and waist lifts.
  • Welder is exposed to heat and fumes that may be somewhat disagreeable.
  • Requires employee to perform other jobs in the cell as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years welding experience preferred.
  • Must be able to be 6G, 3F and 5F certified by an outside welding certification body.
  • Requires ability to use MIG/TIG welders to join metal to close tolerances. Various metals may be required, some of which are galvanized steel, aluminum, copper, and stainless steel.
  • Requires ability to read and interpret complicated shop drawings.
  • Requires understanding of standardized welding symbols used on shop drawings to convey method of welding.
  • Requires a strong mechanical background as well as the ability to use simple math with both decimals and fractions.
